buzzz by thursday~

i am soooo frustrated.

i had an entire post with a marinara recipe, buzz by buttons and then blogger acted all crazy and would not allow me to save it.

ugh.

do you ever have problems with your blog or computer and you literally

want

to

throw

it

out

the

door?

seriously. i am trying to maintain my composure.

it started earlier

as i was trying to change my font for my title and side bar.

i have tried about 456,392 times to do this, and i get to the last step and get

all excited. hit save and NOTHING. arrrrghhhhh...?!? (sorry, please excuse my

harsh words!)

now on to the easy peasy marinara recipe. oye.

home made easy 'sauce'

one carton cherry tomatoes

1 red onion diced

3-4 garlic cloves

fresh or dried basil

sea salt

pepper

olive oil

white wine or water from the stock of boiling pasta

1 hot or mild pepper OR red pepper flakes

drizzle about 2 tbsp. olive oil in pan. saute onion until clear. add garlic. saute for a few mins. pour in tomatoes. cover. allow to cook until the skins start popping. take a fork and mash. pour in about 3/4 cup of the stock water or white wine.season with basil and spices. simmer until it cooks down. i added in spices and also a couple tbsp. parmesan cheese. i added in langostinos (they look like baby lobster tails). serve over buttered pasta noodles. sprinkle with fresh basil.

buttered noodles

boil pasta.

drain.

mix with 1/2 stick REAL butter.

sprinkle VERY generous amount of garlic powder AND parmesan cheese. season with sea salt!

serve plain or with sauce.

we keep these in our fridge always. it's nice to have on hand and they are so delish!

serve pasta sauce with fresh bread for dipping!

p.s. (not exactly low calorie, but soooo yummy!)

monday mania!

happy monday!

i am still not at work. (however, being that it is labor day, i guess
most are not either.....)
we had a really nice, QUIET day off. the boy was off as well.
i feel like for the past two weeks we have been on opposite schedules.
between school sporting events and work stuff, we NEVER
get to see each other. well, i AM exagerating. we do. but
for like 5 seconds.
we went to the farm market yesterday before he was off to work
again. OYE. oh well. it DOES pay our bills right?!?

so, getting back to our quiet day today. we went to best buy. do you know
what that equates to? men's GIANT toy store.
um, enter a girl who really does not like best buy. i mean, lets face the reality here,....it doesnt have clothes, shoes, purses, crafts or fabrics...OR cooking supplies.... i went
merely for bonding time
.
we are thinking of getting a new tv for our bedroom AND
switching to direct tv. i simply could care less...
however, i did get a chance to show that boy, this lovely toy....

i have been wanting one for a while......just sayin......

needless to say, we left with OUT a camera AND a tv! yes, i pouted...for a minute...or two......

i will continue to drop the seedlings as i have....until he busts and

cant take it any longer. (it really isnt a deviant plan....i swear...) :O)

and then we went off to

wallow in some blueberry beer!

pure bliss. oh, look closely...THOSE are REAL frickin blueberries floating

like flotation devices in our BEER!

i swear. i am getting OLD. (be nice. i know i AM old...and i am not

'getting' anywhere......)

but seriously....ONE beer and i am done. i used to hang with the best. now,

one beer and i am begging for my blankie and sucking my thumb

looking for the nearest place i can curl up without looking too

ridiculous!

i believe these chains are only in cleve and pitts...but THEY really do have

yummy bar eats. check it out. the sammies are

so huge that jp snizzle and i shared. i made sure to eat less than he

so i wasnt technically eating as MUCH as him! (hey, it's psychological,

what can i say???)

the rest of the night/day was uneventful. target trip.

helped princess # 3 write a thesis paper.

ooohhh emmm geeee..made the BEST peanut butter banana

milk shake eva....

oh, and the easiest marinara sauce...(recipe coming tomorrow!)

and now BED! this old girl is TIRED!

happy sunday. it's STILL the weekend! yay!

i am having a rough time getting going this a.m. hhhmm..

no late night. no awful hangover.

maybe my copious amounts of non sleep are finally

catching up!

oh well, i relished in the glory of snuggling next to that boy for a few extra minutes.

that's the nice thing about fall, the air is crisp...

the bed is warm!

some days it's just nice to be LAZY. i think that's today. i did start the laundry. blah.

i will try to get a few things done. we have a party but not til way later.

and honestly, i have become such a homebody, that i really like to just hang out HERE!

i filled out an online survey which said that they would be randomly choosing someone

for a prize of above mentioned.

well. lucky ducky me.

AND the best part???

it took literally 4.10 seconds.

i emailed the girl from carrabbas headquarters back just to reiterate and ensure we were

under NO obligation.

andddd.....NONE. we will be responsible for our alcohol. everything else: compliments

honestly, if you have never had dinner here, you should consider....(oh, and

i am not getting anything extra to put this in my blog...fyi!)

we took the boys here a couple of weeks ago and i literally

filled out the survery regarding our experience.

but......

i LOVE this place. we are not fans of chain or franchise restaurants. dont get me wrong...

we will eat at different places, but we really prefer the eclectic, or mom and pop

type of independently owned. i think

it's good to support your local businesses.

so, anyway, i get off track...look at the menu and if you have one near...RUN, dont walk

and try the speidino di mare, or the chicken bryan.

pure bliss to your palate.

yesterday. still smiling. soooo delish. (i did not make the whipped cream topping, we

are out of heavy whipping cream. boo.)

saturday bitzness and home made whipped CREAM!!!

so that equates to smiles on a saturday morn.

glad most of you liked the halloweenie decs.

i am officially in the 'spirit'...

ok, not like 'spirts' as in ghosts and witches...but the

'spirit' of fall.

today it was COLD outside. the smell of fall is in the air.

princess # 2, told her aunt....'well, it wont be long til my mom transforms

the house into a giant pumpkin.'.....yes.

i cant help it. i love to decorate. dont be a hater,  daughter # 2. you will see

how much fun it is when you are a big girl, with a house of your own.

so i bought some goodies at marshalls today. in case you didnt know....i LOVE bargains.

i shop at thrift stores.

yes. i buy gently worn clothing. again, dont hate. (thats why engineers developed these crazy things

called washers and dryers.)

i LOVE a sale. i will never pay full price for anything. ok. i lied.

coach purses and tiffany jewerly never go on sale. well, i digress. coach outlets have

sales.

i shop at ALDI. i shop at flea markets. i shop at marcs.

all of these places are relatively cheaper then regular grocery stores and department stores.

anyway, back to my purchases:

um, yes, friends....7.99! hollar! winner winner chicken dinner!

some of this 5.99 a bag...say WHAT??....which will be made into these:

and a few other odds and ends. i could honestly mill around that store for hours. we did.

my sister from LA is visiting so we had a girl's day out. started out with some

yumminess from here:

ohhhhh emmmmm geeee. hands down. best BACON. evvvvvaaaa!

seriously. i am not a porky pig kind of girl. i mean come on, i will eat it here or there....

but i dont LOVE bacon. however,

i WILL eat this bacon. again. and. again.

DEEEELICIOUS! big, fat, tasty, juicy, greasy and downright fattening!

oh, and every 'meal' comes with 3 pancakes. oh, no YOU diddddnnnntt....um, yes, i did. :o)

i ate almost all of my breaky.

OINK.

ok, for that home made whipped cream.

homemade whipped topping

1 or two containers heavy whipping cream.

1 tbsp.sugar.

1 tsp vanilla

 

this is so easy. once you taste you will not EVER eat pre made topping or cool whip again.

pour one container of whipping cream into cold, chilled bowl. add about 1-2 tbsp. white sugar.

beat with kitchen aid or electric mixer until peaks form. (yes, may take about 4 or 5 mins. on high)....

serve over pie. coffee. hot cocoa. brownies. cake. spaghetti. (LOL. totally kidding. well sort of...depends

on how much you LIKE it)...

p.s. this is NOT a fat free food, nor is it low cal in any way. sue me.

me thinking to myself....doesnt seem like a waste of money. i mean if i had a LOT of
